With the coronavirus pandemic causing many Americans to work from home CBS Los Angeles, sports anchor, Kristin Smith is no exception.
Josiah Smith, a 36-year-old comedian, entrepreneur and Kristin’s husband, couldn’t help himself from turning his wife’s live broadcast at their home into a viral TikiTok prank last week.
The joke caused a bit of a stir online with many people saying it was irresponsible, but the couple assures everyone it was all in good fun.
The “crash happened during a commercial break, and Kristin’s employers loved it. Kristin said they knew her husband would be up to something once he heard their backyard would be used for a live segment.
Smith told Buzzfeed News, “What most people don’t know about the video is that I was watching her on live TV, but when I ‘crashed,’ it was actually a commercial break, and Kristin just went with it,” said Josiah. “And then I edited the video to fit what I wanted it to look like.”
“So I’m not really a jerk, guys!”
Despite the online backlash, the couple who regularly post hilarious moments on their Instagram said they are really happy they could make people laugh.
“I think laughter is something we all need a little more of these days! The video made millions of people laugh, which is great,” said Kristin.
Adding, “It’s a crazy time in the world — and in our house with two toddlers — but we’re trying to focus on the positive and have some family fun while we’re all stuck indoors.”
