Could you imagine a world where Steph and Ayesha Curry never happened? Tragic right? Well, it would have been totally possible if the couple listened to Gabrielle Union’s advice.
During a quarantined version of a double date, Gabby and her husband 13-time NBA All-Star, Dwyane Wade, joined the Currys in an Instagram Wine Down via IG Live, where the boys had a cook-off ad their wives judged and announced a winner.
That wasn’t the only thing that went down in the kitchen. Gabrielle also revealed an untold story about a time years ago where she wasn’t too supportive of Ayesha and the Golden State Warriors star dating.
“I was like, ‘You guys, the likelihood of this working out is very low and you should just break up now and have sex with other people,'” I used different language, but is that not what I told y’all both?” -Union said
Ayesha responded, laughing, saying, “You looked at me and said, ‘How old are you? OK…’ ”
At the time, Gabrielle admittedly says she was enjoying her life and was not about settling down at a young age.
Dwyane jokingly added an apology for the decade-old advice on behalf of the family, saying, “That’s not who we are anymore.”
As for the Curry’s who met while still, teenagers at a church event in North Carolina married in 2011 when Steph was 23 and Ayesha 22. The couple has three children together.
“Listen, you guys are unicorns,” Union told the pair. “There are very few people that I’ve met who have been consistent.”
It’s safe to say we’re all happy the couple ditched that advice and did what felt right.
