Rumors have been swirling for years about power couple Jada Pinkett Smith and husband, Will Smith. The couple confirmed some of those rumors during an exclusive Red Table Talk on Friday, July 10.
Joined by her husband instead of co-hosts her mother Adrienne “”Gammy”” Banfield and daughter Willow Smith the couple addressed questions surrounding her relationship with the singer, August Alsina.
Alsina sat with Angela Yee for Complex and addressed the rumored relationship.
Will starts the conversation with, “”So, what happened Jada?”.” They revealed they met August years ago in a healing capacity as the singer has dealt with an autoimmune disease.
“”It all started with him just needing some help. Me wanting to help his health, his mental state,”” Jada said.
The relationship with August also began when the couple was going through a rough time in their marriage, in which they said they separated for an indefinite amount of time. The goal was to figure out how they could make themselves happy.
During that time, Jada said she just wanted to feel good and entailed herself with the young singer.
Jada continued, “”I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken. In the process of that relationship I definitely realized that you can find happiness outside yourself.””
“Through that particular journey, I learned so much about myself and was able to really confront a lot of emotional immaturity, emotional insecurity, and I was really able to do some really deep healing,”” Jada said. “And as I came through and started to realize certain things about you and I, he decided to break all communication with me which was totally understandable.””
Jada also said that she hadn’t talked to August in recent years and was stunned he went on to bring up their relationship now.
Through it, all the couple is all about riding together as they don’t have any secrets amongst them.
